Materials Portrait

In fall of Freshman year, we were asked to explore a variety of different materials. We created a pattern display of the different materials and then assembled a celebrity's portrait image out of those materials. Each material was assigned to a specific color hue in the portrait. I created a portrait of The Weeknd by using materials such as, foil, a cross word puzzle, cloth, starry fabric, water-patterned paper, and Dum Dum wrappers. All of these materials were chosen as a symbol of The Weeknd's personal style and character.
