Interior Design Abroad
In the Spring of 2023, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy as a Junior. I and a few other Louisiana State University Interior Design students studied at Santa Reparata International School of Art. I took an Advanced Interior Design Studio, a Sketchbook Studies class, and two design electives of my choice. For my electives, I decided to study Sustainable Fashion and Jewelry Making. Within the four months of my experience, I was given the opportunity to explore Italian architecture and design from the Renaissance.
Work While Abroad
The following images showcase the completed jewelry pieces that I created throughout the Beginner Jewelry Making class. I designed, cut, sawdered, shaped, and cleaned each brass piece to finalize the designs. I created two necklace pendants and two rings.
Travels
Throughout my time in Europe, my friends and I traveled almost every weekend to various European countries. We traveled to France, Portugal, Spain, and many other regions throughout Italy, including, Tropea, Venice, Rome, Siena, Milan, Tuscany, Sorrento, Naples, and Pompeii.
